Mahatma Gandhi said a mouthful, didn't he??? And there's NOTHING like the love a parent has for their child to inspire one to do just that!!! I can speak from experience and so can Joseph Mazzarino, puppeteer and Sesame Street writer. Joseph and his wife adopted a little girl from Ethiopia. For me, this isn't about a white father and his black daughter. This story is about a father's unconditional love for his child and his charge to make her emotional world a safer place.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this interview and hearing his sensitivity to his child's needs, it warmed my heart. And y'all know how I feel about the kids loving their natural hair!

As an aside...
I know that there are some people who are complaining about his song/video. Some have gone as far as to accuse this father of taking the puppet from wearing her afro in the beginning to wearing extensions at the end where she has long braids.
* PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*
As a parent who's natural hair journey began from a similar place, as the one which sparked Joseph's actions, I applaud and thank him whole heartedly!
